Below is an message from Fr. Kevin McGoldrick. Our beloved Fr. Kevin will be joining the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal on Saturday, February 28th, 2010. He will be celebrating a Holy Hour at Visitation BVM Church on Sunday, February 21st at 3:00. Let us keep Fr. Kevin in prayer as he enters into consecrated life.

My Dear Family and Friends,,
Peace to you all. I pray that as we prepare for Lent the Lord is pouring abundant graces on all of you. I have some news to share with you. I wish that I could have contacted all of you personally but the time is so short that I am simply unable to do so.
From my earliest days in the seminary I have felt an attraction to Religious Life, but for many reasons the timing never seemed right or the doors were not open. I have no doubt that the Lord’s Providence has been supreme in my life, that every step and even misstep has been worked into the Lord’s plan. I know that he wanted me to be ordained a diocesan priest, but has always allowed a desire to stir, a desire for more sober Gospel living, more community and deeper intimacy with Him.
Over the years I have made inquiries into community life , but whenever I initiated a search, the peace was lacking. I am learning slowly the words of the psalm, “Wait for the Lord to lead then follow in His way.”
This past September, a door began to open which I did not initiate and since then the Lord has made it clear that He is calling. For this reason and in His Providence I have been invited to join the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
I will be heading up to NY on Monday Feb. 22 and beginning Novitiate on Sat. Feb. 28, 2010. I realize how quick this is, and on the human level it seems so short, but I firmly believe that the Lord’s timing is always perfect even if we can not see it.
A few months ago I knelt before His Eminence Justin Cardinal Rigali and he gave me His Blessing on this journey. In this moment I pray that his blessing and my own extends the Lord’s own blessing upon your life.
Please continue to keep me in your prayers during this time of transition. May Our Blessed Lady keep you safe in Her Immaculate Heart,

Holy Hour: Sunday Feb 21, 2010
